Patricia Mathis has always has a passion for the arts. At the age of nine, she started oil painting and pottery. Later, she perfected her skills in pencil and charcoal mediums while creating likenesses of her friends and family. Patricia went to college for the arts and met her husband Stephen while she was there. They moved to Belgium soon after they were married. While in Europe, Patricia fell in love with photography, building her skills as they toured Belgium and the surrounding countries. When they returned stateside, Patricia continued to grow her skills as a photographer by studying under and working with some of the top photographers in the nation. She is a member of WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers Int.), PPSDC (Professional Photographers of San Diego Co.) and PPA (Professional Photographers of America).  Currently, Patricia is an active member of the Professional Photographers Association of Channel Islands, and is a featured speaker at professional photography groups across California.

Her active role in these organizations for professional photographers has been invaluable in growing her skill as a photographer.  Patricia earned her Masters of Photography from PPA in a record three years.  She has been awarded PPA Photographer of the Year (Bronze and Gold levels) for the past two years.  This year, she was also named Children's Photographer of the Year and Wedding Photographer of the Year for PPSDC.

Patricia's passion for art and for people is the force that drives her to continually strive for new heights as a photographer.

"I consider it such a priviledge when I am invited to be a part of the most special times in people's lives.  It is a priviledge that I take very seriously.  As a photographer, I am responsible for preserving  once-in-a-lifetime-events for my clients.  They are trusting me with this treasure and I give every client my very best". - Patricia Mathis
